Message from the chair

Yeon-Koo Che

Welcome to the Asia Pacific Industrial Organization Conference (APIOC) for 2018. The APIOC was established in 2016, with the aim of fostering IO research among scholars and the building of their community in Asia and beyond. The first two conferences held in Melbourne in 2016 and Auckland in 2017 were huge successes, featuring a large number of high-quality papers both in theory and empirics. I particularly enjoyed its congenial, open, and welcoming atmosphere, greatly aided by the bright warm December weather in the Southern Hemisphere.

With its third conference coming back to Melbourne in 2018, we are looking to build momentum toward a truly world class academic event. I am confident that this edition will be another enjoyable and successful event. I am personally honored and delighted to be associated with this new development of IO research, and I hope you will participate in the development by submitting your research.

Yeon-Koo Che
