Message from the APIOC 2026 Chair

The APIOC was established in 2016 to foster IO research and build the IO community of scholars in the Asia Pacific region and beyond. This year the conference will be held at Xiamen University in Xiamen, China, from December 11 – 13.
I am honoured to serve as the Program Chair, working with an excellent team of local organisers. I look forward to welcoming you in person at the conference.

Professor Julian Wright
National University of Singapore
Goh Keng Swee Professor in the Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses mainly on strategy and policy questions related to digital multi-sided platforms. Sectors he has focused on include app stores, payment platforms, online marketplaces, search and booking platforms, peer-to-peer lending, ride-hailing services, and AI. He is currently a co-editor of the RAND Journal of Economics.
Professor Daniel Yi Xu
Duke University
David Rubenstein Distinguished Professor of Economics at Duke University, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economics Research (NBER, Productivity; International Trade and Investment; Development), a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Polity Research (CEPR, Climate Change and the Environment), a senior fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), a research affliate with International Growth Center (IGC). He is currently a co-editor of the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics.
